Specialists of the Crimean Federal University named following V.I. Vernadsky, they invented an unmanned vehicle that can take on part of the work of winegrowers.
The invention is a chassis with a high ground clearance, on which emitters are also installed, necessary for treating grape ashes with infrared and ultraviolet light, capable of disinfecting plants, as well as devices spraying with a special solution.
According to scientists, this combination can significantly reduce the spread of pathogens on plants – by regarding 90%.
Trained operators will be able to control the drone using the remote control of the device.
– Vineyards are one of the most saturated in terms of consumption of chemicals plantations. So, only in one growing season they are processed up to 20 times. If we reduce this load at least twice, we will get a very high healing effect both for the soil and for plants, air and humans, – explained the head of the department of general technical disciplines of the Agrotechnological Academy of KFU.
