After many years of work, most people look forward to a well-earned retirement. The amount of the pension can be easily calculated using the so-called pension formula. Since July 1, 2024, this pension formula will calculate a little more than before.
The reason: The more than 21 million pensioners in Germany will receive more money after the pension increase – namely 4.57 percent. Changes to disability pensions from July – how much supplement will pensioners receive?
Women in particular will be pleased about the general pension increase, as they receive on average several hundred euros less in pension than men in Germany. But in addition to the pension increase for all pensioners who receive an old-age pension, there is another big plus.
How echo24.de As already reported, the disability pension has also increased by 4.5 and 7.5 percent of the payment amount since July. According to the German Pension Insurance, the supplement will be paid separately from the pension from July 2024 to November 2025 – so some pensioners will receive double.
Disability pension increases – there is so much more money
The reason for the different supplementary amounts is that there was already an increase in the attribution periods for disability pensioners in 2014, which meant that those affected who received a disability pension for the first time between 2014 and 2019 were slightly better off than those whose pension began before July 2014.

The best news for pensioners: You don’t have to do anything to have your entitlement to the higher disability pension checked and applied for. The pension insurance company takes care of this itself and those entitled to it should have received a letter in good time.
