In Sotobo Ohara, fishing for flounder was completely allowed on October 1st. The area from Ohara to the coast of Taito is dotted with sand, rocky reefs, and many roots. Due to the abundance of bait and the migration of sardines depending on the season, there is a good chance of catching flounder, and the track record is perfect. This timeShuneimaruLet me tell you regarding my fishing trip for flounder on board.

Offshore fishing for flounder has been lifted
Ohara Port has many boat inns that specialize in catching flounder, and many captains have a reputation for letting you catch them. All of the captains work hard to help anglers catch as many fish as possible, and entertain them with accurate boat maneuvering, with the goal of keeping the boat clean and free.
Eiichi Shirakawa, captain of the Shunei Maru, is one such captain. The microphone performance inherited from the great captain is not wasted and the timing is accurate. People who try it for the first time sometimes end up at the top.
On October 9th (Monday/holiday), I went fishing with two fishing friends.
Despite the tough conditions with strong rain and wind, we were able to catch the top 5 fish, including some good fish, and might feel a solid response.
Good start following the ban was lifted
Before leaving the ship, I asked the captain how the fishing was going, and he said that since the ban was lifted, the top catch has been regarding 6 to 8 fish every day, so it’s off to a good start. The day before, we caught 8 top fish with a maximum weight of 2.7kg. Two days ago, we caught 2.5kg head and 6 top fish. Although the big flyer hasn’t been raised yet, the sardine reaction is starting to appear, and the big wild dance seems to be in the countdown stage.
Also, on good days, we sometimes go offshore, and on the 7th, Akira Murakami (Saitama City) caught 2.4 kg of flounder and 2.2 kg of mackerel at a depth of 30 meters off Taito. Another big attraction is that high-class guests such as red sea bream, Spanish mackerel, perch, and rockfish mingle.

Start fishing in bad weather
We left the port just following 4:30 when it was still dark. There seemed to be a lot of cancellations, probably due to the forecast of heavy rain and strong winds, and there were only 6 anglers including us. Enter starboard and drift overboard. The target depth is around 15m. The bottom is a little bumpy, but it doesn’t seem to have much of a root catch.
Despite being on the tide with the wind at my back, the gear did not go under the ship as much as I expected. Perhaps the tide and wind are in the opposite direction, but the boat doesn’t seem to be moving as much as I expected, so even if there is a hit, it often doesn’t catch.
2kg class flounder appears on the next page!
