As part of the negotiations for the 2023-2024 inter-professional agreement, the Government has provided for the possibility of granting workers a purchasing power bonus since May 1, 2023. What is this precisely?
First of all, what is this bonus and who is entitled to it ?
This bonus has existed since June 1 and its maximum amount is 750 euros net. Maximum, because it depends on sectoral negotiations and company profits. The advantage for the company is that the employer contribution is reduced, it is much less than for a salary and it is 100% deductible.
The advantage for the beneficiary is that it is exempt from social charges and taxes. So it’s net for the worker.
Who will be able to perceive it?
They concern all employees and workers of companies. On the other hand, the self-employed, people who exercise a liberal profession and the unemployed are excluded.
If granted, the purchasing power bonus is given in one installment, in the form of a paper check or in electronic format. Like meal vouchers and eco-vouchers, it can be spent on food purchases or ecological products and services.
Please note, this bonus is not an obligation, but is subject to negotiation. And time is running out, because the deadline is December 31, 2023: following that, it will be too late. On the other hand, if you benefit from it, you will be able to spend this famous bonus until December 31, 2024.
