Unlike Macron, the Argentine president will attend the World Cup final “with his people.”

Argentine President Alberto Fernandez announced that he will watch the World Cup soccer final Sunday between his country and France at home, and will not leave for Qatar to attend it in person.

On Sunday, he wrote on Twitter: Like millions of my countrymen, I will be enjoying the World Cup Final at home.

He added: I will live this wonderful moment as I have done so far with my people, we will give our best on the field among our wonderful fans on the stands.

Fernandez is known to be a fan of the “Argentinos Juniors” team, which introduced soccer legend Diego Maradona.

On Saturday followingnoon, French President Emmanuel Macron left for Qatar, accompanied by his wife Brigitte, to attend the final match, according to what the Elysee announced.

On Wednesday, Macron attended the semi-final match in which France defeated Morocco.
