Unlicensed Medicines Raid in Adana: Syrian Nationals Arrested for Illegal Medical Practice

In an operation carried out by the police in the Turkish city of Adana, unlicensed medicines and medical supplies were found, and three people of Syrian nationality were arrested on charges of practicing medicine without certificates. This comes as part of extensive efforts to preserve the health and safety of the public.

The details of the operation that Turkey Now followed indicate that the Organized Crime and Smuggling Combat Team in the Governorate Security Directorate carried out a raid on a 7-storey building in the Seyhan area, where people of Syrian nationality work. 90 serums, 300 needles, various medicines, medical devices, tests for the COVID-19 virus and other medical supplies were found.

The police launched an investigation against the three arrested persons, who were allegedly providing medical treatment without medical certificates. The charges against them include “manufacturing and selling medicines in a way that endangers people’s lives and health” and “violating Law No. 1219 related to the practice of medicine and its sub-arts.”
