Unleashing the Giants: The Journey from Signorini to De Filippi

The list of Maria Rosaria Boccia’s “enemies” is growing. After targeting Gennaro Sangiuliano and his collaborators, a few days ago during the interview on In Onda the entrepreneur from Pompeii called out the orchestra conductor Beatrice Venezi for an alleged conflict of interest in her role as consultant to the Ministry of Culture. Venezi has “instructed her lawyers to protect her professional reputation in relation to the dissemination of instrumental and untrue information”, and the former minister is also preparing for a legal battle. Meanwhile, another of her crusades resurfaces from Boccia’s social past, this time targeting no longer ministers or consultants, but some very well-known faces from the entertainment world. On April 7, 2022, she shared – copying it in an ad hoc post accompanied by a photo of the people involved, and tagging around eighty people – the very violent letter from a teacher. A long invective accusing Barbara D’Urso, Maria De Filippi, Alfonso Signorini and Alessia Marcuzzi «and the whole gang of your infernal hell» of being «among the main people responsible for the cultural decay of the country, its social barbarism, its moral corruption, the mental destabilization of the new generations, the ethical impoverishment of the young, the educational distortion of children».

In the catelinary taken up by Maria Rosaria Boccia, the unfortunate De Filippi, Signorini and so on – there is also the tag to Ilary Blasi – are defined as «accomplices and conscious promoters of that perverse media process that has inculcated the belief of a self-realization based exclusively on appearance, on the ostentation of fame, success and beauty, on the constant search for applause, on the approval of the public, on the construction of what others want and not of what we are». The fiery missive concludes by wishing the aforementioned people the «end of their careers» and «media extinction, because only these can be the right punishments for the irreparable damage caused to the country». Rather peculiar this ferocious attack on appearance and the ostentation of fame, success and beauty, spread by a person whose social profile is a continuous display of designer clothes and accessories and photos at glam events. Often taken from other sites and retouched, such as the image taken from an airline site, photoshopped to imply that Boccia was the passenger portrayed from behind leaving for Paris.

Who's got it in for Sangiuliano? The background and possible little hands behind Boccia's coup

And we don’t understand the idiosyncrasy for De Filippi, when only a short time before the same entrepreneur enthusiastically invited her followers to follow Maria. We also struggle to understand Boccia’s like to a user according to whom «Mediaset is a trashy TV that has no values», after having participated in Christmas in the Vatican broadcast by Canale5. But Maria Rosaria’s bellicose attitude transpires from various posts on her profiles, in which even the most innocuous caption seems to evoke some mysterious unsaid, some enigmatic interlocutor envious of her success, someone unidentified who «gossips». We already know about her less than idyllic relationship with her ex-husband who, according to him, has been waiting for ten years for our woman to go to court to rectify a transcription error that would make their divorce definitive from a marriage that lasted less than a year. And we remember the horror story of the stalker nurse who threatened to burn down her house, even if in this specific case Boccia was the victim. In Pompeii and Scafati many are gossiping that her combative nature has led her to end up at loggerheads with many people and that with her beauty she has made several men lose their heads, leaving repercussions in their lives. The irreducible drip of replies and counter-replies, attacks and counter-attacks, allusions and jabs, such as the one about other unidentified women who are allegedly involved in the Mic affair, would therefore seem to be a pattern that comes from afar.

Maria Rosaria Boccia: The Whistleblower with a Growing List of Enemies

Maria Rosaria Boccia, the entrepreneur from Pompeii, has been making headlines recently with her crusades against high-profile figures in Italy. After forcing Gennaro Sangiuliano to resign, Boccia has set her sights on other targets, including orchestra conductor Beatrice Venezi, who has instructed her lawyers to protect her professional reputation against Boccia’s allegations of conflict of interest [[1]].

However, Boccia’s list of “enemies” doesn’t stop there. She has also taken aim at celebrities from the entertainment world, including Barbara D’Urso, Maria De Filippi, Alfonso Signorini, and Alessia Marcuzzi, among others. In a fiery letter posted on social media, Boccia accused these individuals of being responsible for the cultural decay of Italy, social barbarism, moral corruption, and the destabilization of new generations [[3]].

Boccia’s social media post, which tagged around 80 people, including Ilary Blasi, went viral and sparked controversy. In the letter, Boccia defined the targeted celebrities as “accomplices and conscious promoters of that perverse media process that has inculcated the belief of a self-realization based exclusively on appearance, on the ostentation of fame, success and beauty, on the constant search for applause, on the approval of the public, on the construction of what others want and not of what we are” [[3]].

The entrepreneur has become somewhat of an influencer, with her followers increasing exponentially in the past week. According to reports, Boccia gained over 89,000 followers in just one week, bringing her total followers to 119,000 [[2]]. As Boccia’s influence grows, so does the list of people she has targeted. With her fiery rhetoric and unapologetic accusations, Boccia has become a polarizing figure in Italian media. While some see her as a whistleblower, others view her as a troublemaker who is out to destroy reputations.

One thing is certain, however: Maria Rosaria Boccia is not going anywhere anytime soon. With her growing influence and unwavering determination, she will continue to be a force to be reckoned with in Italian media and politics.
