Mumbai: An opportunity comes when you don’t wait. Then it cannot be capitalized. This is the criticism that Malayali cricketer Sanju Samson has been facing for ages. Everyone criticized Sanju when he was not played in the first ODI once morest West Indies. But when he got a chance in the second match, Kunjan was out for a score. However, former Indian opener Akash Chopra is arguing that Sanju Samson should be in the playing eleven in the third ODI as well. Chopra argues that a single match is not enough to gauge Sanju’s talent.

‘If the method is to test the players, I expect the same XI for the third ODI. The batting order should be the same as in the second ODI. A single innings that sent Sanju Samson to third and Axar Patel to fourth was not enough to measure them. Akash Chopra also tweeted that Suryakumar Yadav should also bat at number 6.

Team India was led by Hardik Pandya in the second ODI once morest West Indies while skipper Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli were out. Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill were the openers when India lost the match by six wickets. Opener Ishan Kishan (55 off 55 balls) replaced Rohit Sharma and scored a fifty for the second consecutive match. Gill scored 34 runs off 49 balls. After this, Sanju Samson, who replaced Virat Kohli at number three, scored only 9 runs in 19 balls. Spin all-rounder Axar Patel (1 off 8 balls) who was promoted fourth, followed by skipper Hardik Pandya (7 off 14 balls) failed.

Sixth man Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed for 24 off 25 balls, Ravindra Jadeja on 10 off 21 balls and Shardul Thakur on 16 off 22 balls. Kuldeep Yadav remained unbeaten on 8* off 22 balls while Umran Malik (0) and Mukesh Kumar (6) were the other players’ scores.
