Designed with a focus on power efficiency and advanced computing capabilities, this chipset delivers the best experiences in gaming, generative AI, and high-quality photography. Built with the latest CPU architecture and advanced NPU technology, Dimensity 9400 is poised to become a new standard in the semiconductor industry.

Carrying a second generation All Big Core design using Arm v9.2 architecture, the Dimensity 9400 delivers much faster performance than its predecessor, the Dimensity 9300.

With one Arm Cortex-X925 core running at 3.62GHz, plus three Cortex-X4 cores and four Cortex-A720 cores, the chipset offers 35 percent faster single-core performance and 28 percent higher multi-core performance.

Not only that, thanks to the 3nm manufacturing process from TSMC, Dimensity 9400 provides impressive power efficiency, with energy savings of up to 40 percent.

The chipset is equipped with an 8th Generation NPU, which is the first in the industry to support LoRA (Low-Rank Adaptation) training and high-quality AI video creation directly on the device. MediaTek Dimensity 9400 also supports large language model (LLM) up to 80 percent faster, with 35 percent lower power consumption than the previous generation.

MediaTek also introduced the Dimensity Agentic AI Engine (DAE), which facilitates traditional AI applications becoming more sophisticated through integration with third-party APKs. This enables developers to accelerate the development of generative AI applications by optimizing the use of edge and cloud models.

For gaming fans, the Dimensity 9400 comes with a 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925 GPU, which offers increased ray tracing performance up to 40 percent faster than the previous generation.

New features such as opacity micromaps (OMM) bring more realistic transparency effects, providing a gaming experience closer to PC graphics. This chipset also supports MediaTek Frame Rate Converter and Arm Accurate Super Resolution (ASR), which enables smoother gameplay with greater power savings without sacrificing image quality.

The Dimensity 9400 is also equipped with a MediaTek Imagiq 1090, which supports HDR video recording across the zoom range. With Smooth Zoom technology, users can easily capture moments of moving subjects without reducing image quality. 4K60 video capture is also up to 14 percent more power efficient compared to the previous generation.

MediaTek Dimensity 9400 is expected to be used in smartphones released in the fourth quarter of 2024. This chipset is believed to strengthen MediaTek’s position in the premium market with leading AI, gaming and photography performance.
