Dole Island Nature Park
Nature park “Dole sala” with an area of 1044 ha was established in 1987 in order to preserve the uniqueness of the landscape, cultural and historical monuments of the non-flooded part of Dole sala and to ensure optimal use of recreational resources. It is also a protected nature area of European importance “Natura 2000” with valuable specially protected biotopes.
The central part of the nature park is occupied by pine forests, while there are meadows and fields on the Daugava terraces, the territory also includes the Dole manor complex with a park. Several protected plant species have survived on the island. The ever-changing Daugava and Dole islands, with the habitats of diverse bird species, are interesting for attentive bird watchers, as well as nature lovers – walkers and cyclists.

Jugla lake walking trail
The Jugla lake walking path “Sajūti Juglu” from the existing viewing platform towards Brīvības street is intended as an environmental education and infrastructure facility to explore and discover the natural values of Jugla lake. The trail was opened only this year and its length is 1.6 kilometers. The walking trail of Lake Jugla is a quiet, scenic and at the same time amazing walking place for enjoying peace, nature and historical monuments.

Sloka Lake Trail
The length of the circular trail is 3.1 km. In one direction, the trail goes along the shore of the lake, and in the other direction – through the forest. As you walk along the walking path, you will be able to observe how different forest types replace each other. Walking along the path, it is possible to additionally visit Melnezera and continue the road to Jaunkemeri beach (4.5 km).
