BILBAO, 28 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The new rector of the University of Deusto, Juan José Etxeberria, has announced that in “shortly, in a few weeks”, they will hold a meeting with the councilors for Health, Gotzone Sagardui, and Education, Jokin Bildarratz, so that their medical students can carry out their internships in Osakidetza.
In an interview on Radio Euskadi, reported by Europa Press, Etxeberria, who has just taken over from José María Guibert, who has been in charge of the institution for ten years, also highlighted the “very good relationship” that the center maintains with the companies of the environment.
In this context, he has warned that the university careers that have had the greatest “impulse” in recent years are those related to engineering, health and sports, although he has also opted to “take care of the field of humanities”.
Questioned regarding his academic offer in Medicine -whose students carry out internships in private companies- and the possibility of materializing an agreement with Osakidetza, the rector has announced that “shortly, in a few weeks,” they will hold a meeting with the Health, Gotzone Sagardui, and Education, Jokin Bildarratz, to deal with this issue.
“I hope it progresses well because our students are also going to work in Osakidetza at the end and it is good that they get to know the different hospitals. In practices we are also opening up to other countries, and that attracts young people”, he indicated.
