Vienna (OTS) On behalf of the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Rector Gerald Bast is happily surprised by today’s decision to redesign the Karl Lueger monument: “We are surprised, happy and, to be honest, we also feel a little bit of satisfaction regarding today’s decision to redesign and Contextualization of the Lueger memorial.” said Bast in a first reaction.

In 2010, the University of Applied Arts Vienna chose a winning project from 220 submissions on the basis of an international call for entries with a renowned jury of experts: it was Klemens Wihildal’s with the title tilt. “It is not without a certain absurdity that we gave the City of Vienna all the documents and plans for Wihildals back then, around thirteen years ago tilt have provided. Now it seems that cultural policy is also ready for this. The implementation of Klemens Wihildals tilt was announced by City Councilor for Culture Veronika Kaup-Hasler for 2024.”, concludes Bast.
