A minute’s silence in memory of the victims was followed by a prayer recited by the chief rabbi of Rome Riccardo Di Segni. Rabbi Di Segni expressed “gratitude to the Italian government which protects us with every means”. During the commemoration of October 7th at the capital’s synagogue, Di Segni said that «what happened on October 7th in Israel is the expression of a blind and senseless hatred that often leaves us alone», stating that often «the international community uses two weights and two measures.”
