(CNN) The United States continues to see an increasing number of wildfires burning hundreds of thousands of acres in several states.
It is reported that 87 large fires have already burned 207,537 hectares in at least 12 states, according to the National Interagency Fire Center (NIFC).
“Eight new large fires were reported, two in Texas and one each in Arizona, California, Idaho, Oregon, Utah and Washington. To date, 31,382 forest fires have burned 508,847 hectares,” the NIFC said in its report on Monday.

Numerous firefighters have been dispatched to fight the fires.
According to NIFC, “more than 10,000 wildland firefighters and support personnel are assigned to incidents across the country. This includes 16 incident management teams, nearly 200 crews, more than 460 engines and 92 helicopters.”
