United States Vetoes UN Ceasefire Resolution: Latest Updates on Gaza Conflict, Aid, and Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Response

Washington > The United States has vetoed a resolution brought to the UN Security Council demanding a temporary ceasefire in Gaza. Of the 15 members of the committee, 12 supported it. The resolution was rendered moot by the veto-wielding United States. Britain and Russia abstained.

The resolution condemned both the attacks by Hamas once morest Israel and the violence perpetrated by Israel once morest civilians in Gaza and demanded that aid be provided to the Palestinians in Gaza. Meanwhile, the United States pledged $1 billion to aid civilians in Gaza and the West Bank. It was also agreed to bring aid to the people of Gaza through the Egyptian border. However, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel will not open the border for this.
