The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that a possible piece of battery from the International Space Station (ISS) may have fallen into a home in the city of Florida, in the United States, on March 8.

It should be noted that last March, German government agencies reported that remains of a battery pack discarded three years ago by the ISS would re-enter the Earth’s atmosphere, which would fall somewhere on the planet.

Along those lines, said package would be the size of a vehicle and weigh approximately 2.6 tons. In any case, experts pointed out that the waste would burn when entering the atmosphere, reported German wave.

In that context, on March 21, 2021, it was decided to discard the batteries, since it was expected that it would not fall somewhere on Earth.

However, on March 8, a family from Naples, Florida, reported that a cylindrical-shaped object crashed into the roof of their house, which left a hole in the ceiling reaching the floor of the house.

According to the media Wink News, the owner of the house, Alejandro Otero, explained that “I was shaking. He was in complete disbelief. What are the chances of something falling into my house with enough force to cause such damage?”

Meanwhile, said cylindrical object did not leave anyone injured in the home, according to the affected person.
