The famous guide Michelin now covers a new flagship tourist region, the Floridawhere its inspectors awarded stars to 15 restaurants, offering in passing a additional posthumous tribute to Joël Robuchon.
The only establishment to obtain two stars is indeed “l’Atelier de Joël Robuchon” in Miami, the guide tweeted on Friday June 10, 2022. This restaurant has a counter and an open kitchen, on the model of the others “ workshops” which made the planetary success of the great chef who died in 2018, the most starred in the world.
For this first edition, rather than covering the entire peninsula of the “Sunshine State”, the Michelin Florida guide has focused on its three most touristic metropolises: Miami, Orlando and Tampa.
In Orlando, four restaurants are awarded one star, while ten are in Miami. Tampa got no stars for its restaurants, but a few “Bib gourmands” (precious cuisine at moderate prices) among the 29 awarded for all three cities.
Miami, Orlando and Tampa have been added to a small club of American cities with a dedicated red guide, such as Washington, New York, Chicago or San Francisco.
