Tony Garnett29, and his wife, Lorna, 28, decided to join the thousands of families of United Kingdom who agreed to host ukrainian refugees following the outbreak of war conflict con Russia.
Both husbands went together to fill out the British Government application for the reception of refugees, however, the man found the process too time consuming and began to provide help on his own through Facebook. Thus, Tony Garnett met Sofia Karkadym A 22-year-old information technology professional who was seeking refuge, and who was offered her home by the man.
“It started with a simple desire on my part, to do the right thing. and give a roof to someone in need, a man or a woman,” Garnett told The Sun newspaper.

The young woman accepted the offer from the British family, traveled to Berlin and later arrived at the Garnett house located in the city of Bradford, England. Ten days following Karkadym’s arrival, Tony filed for divorce from Lorna and began a new relationship with the Ukrainian.
“As soon as I saw him I became interested in him. It was very fast, but this is our love story. I know that people will think badly of me, but it happens,” Karkadym told the British media.
“We plan to spend the rest of our lives togethercontinued Garnett, who works as a security guard and has two children with his ex-wife.
