TF1 has just launched the filming of the action series “Unité 8200”, which will plunge Patrick Bruel and Natacha Lindinger (“Sam”) into the heart of a complex investigation between Paris and Tel Aviv. A thriller supervised by part of the creative team of “Fauda”.
Two years following his last screen appearance in the feature film Villa Caprice, Patrick Bruel will play an Israeli secret agent in the action thriller Unit 8200 for TF1. A new project which offers him his first major role in a series.
A few days before the launch of the 2023-2024 television season, which will see TF1 offer many new features on the air such as Mademoiselle Holmes, Rivière-perdue, Brocéliande or La Tribu, the channel has just announced the start of filming yesterday the Unit 8200 series, whose six episodes of 52 episodes will be filmed over several weeks between Paris, the Paris region and Tel Aviv.
In this series freely adapted from the eponymous book written by former Mossad agent Dov Alfon, Patrick Bruel lends his features to Zeev Abadi, an Israeli intelligence legend who is urgently called back to catch the traitor who stole extremely dangerous software developed in the greatest secrecy by a branch of the Israeli army known as Unit 8200, and used in Paris for the first time.
This mission leads her to collaborate with a French anti-terrorism cop, Fleur Giroud (Natacha Lindinger), responsible for elucidating a strange disappearance that occurred in broad daylight at Charles de Gaulle airport. From Tel Aviv to Paris, viewers will thus attend two high-tension investigations carried out by two agents with a strong character.
Alongside Patrick Bruel and Natacha Lindinger (Avenir, Entre ses mains), who continues his collaboration with TF1 following his departure from Sam, action and thriller lovers will find Cyril Gueï (Lies), Christiane Millet (Le Code) , Gaïa Weiss (Marie-Antoinette) and Rascha Bucvik.
Directed by Dan Sachar (Fauda) and written by Negar Djavadi (Mon Ange) and Bruno Fay from a bible imagined by Leora Kamenetsky (Fauda) and David Dusa (Fleurs du Mal), Unit 8200, whose artistic direction is provided by Pascal Elbé, is produced by Elephant International and Keshet Studios International, in co-production with TF1.
Certainly expected in 2024 on the front page, Unit 8200 thus joins Cat’s Eyes, adaptation of the cult manga with Camille Lou, Constance Labbé and Claire Romain, and La Recrue, a new police series closed, among the fictional events that will be shot in the weeks to come by TF1.
