The leader of the opposition party Primero Justicia (PJ), Juan Carlos Caldera, reported on July 16 that the Democratic Unitary Platform (PUD) officially accredited 100% of the electoral witnesses at the voting centers located abroad.

“We want to inform the people of Venezuela that yesterday (July 15) at night the accreditation of witnesses of the unit in the centers abroad was 100% completed, as was the accreditation of the unit in the penitentiary centers,” Caldera said.

The political leader explained that although the electoral population in the country represents a “low” number of voters, they are fulfilling their quota of witnesses.

The former deputy also asked citizens who were chosen as polling station members for the presidential elections and have had difficulty obtaining their credentials to try once more.

“All the people who were chosen as polling station members and who, following many obstacles, managed to register and take their polling station member course today, but were unable to print their credential, we ask you to please try once more,” he insisted.

Problems with the accreditation of polling station members

The training process for the people who were selected by the National Electoral Council (CNE) as members of the table began on June 28 and since then Several people have reported difficulties to create your user.

“Some polling station members have faced problems when trying to register in the system: from messages that someone else had already created their user to blocks when trying to print the credential,” said Brenda Ribero, coordinator of the #HolaTúInscríbeteRE initiative, on July 12.

The most common problem reported by users was that they did not receive the verification code to complete the registration. On social media, some Internet users recommended using the Mozilla Firefox Internet browser, normally recommended for carrying out online procedures on State portals.

For her part, Sobella Mejías, a political leader and former director of the CNE, said that another persistent problem is that, despite passing the final knowledge test, the system never generated the credential to download. “The Electoral Power must guarantee impartiality in the installation of subordinate bodies,” she said.

On July 9, the national coordinator of Voto Joven called on citizens who were selected as members of the table through the draw carried out by the CNE to undergo training. Cedeño recalled that those who were selected to carry out this task in the electoral process have until July 27 to do the training.

“It is important to clarify two things. The first is that the CNE website will only accept the ID of the people who were selected as members of the polling station (…). And the second is that people have to remember their password because there is no password recovery button. That is one of the flaws of the CNE website,” he said.

How to do the training if you were selected as a board member?

To carry out the trainingthe following steps must be chosen:

-Register on the CNE Training System website www.ecap.cne.gob.ve

-Enter the website with your ID number and password (this password must be remembered because there is no password recovery option)

-Take a six-module online course (all are on video)

-Take an exam to receive accreditation

-Print the accreditation

Another option to train as a polling station member is to go to the municipal centers indicated in the list that appears on the CNE website, which is divided by entities and municipalities.
