Unique with the villa using the bedroom as a shaded porch in Hue

With the console structure reaching out impressively, the upper bedroom block of the building in Hue becomes a large veranda to shade the ground floor area.

The work in the picture is located in Hue – the ancient capital of Vietnam – the city also has an ancient appearance and preserves many heritages. Therefore, the city center area is increasingly narrow, plus the harsh tropical humid climate, hot in summer and heavy rain in winter, so most of the housing architecture here is still tube house with the form of a tube house. the architecture is quite boring, old and safe. Therefore, homeowners want architects to help them build another house so that they can really relax following a busy working day.

The construction site has a total area of nearly 450m2, but the architect only built the house with a total floor area of 180m2 (the ground floor is only 80m2). The rest is space for landscaping, swimming pools and gardens.

The first floor plan is designed with the simplest form possible, is the horizontal continuation from the fence wall, extends horizontally the land, divides the garden into 2 parts: The front area is the entrance with the yard. parking, swimming pool, outdoor party. The rear area is a vegetable garden and fruit trees.

The first floor is arranged perpendicular to the ground floor and stretches along the land to overlook both the front yard and the back garden mentioned above.

With a console beam extending out 2.5m, the upper bedroom block becomes a large veranda to shade the ground floor area. The awning is an extremely important element in tropical architecture, it helps to prevent the hot sun shining in as well as the rain in winter directly into the house.

The architects have planted a large tree with shade on the ground floor through the upper balcony to cool both areas in the summer.

The architect uses solid-hollow contrast technique to build the building, whereby the ground floor is designed to be as airy as possible, connecting the landscape before and following, while promoting natural and ventilation factors. The other floor is a solid block with purpose-built windows.

According to the architects, in today’s modern world, the living area of trees is increasingly shrinking, so they want to direct people to nature, coexist with and respect nature through works like this.
