The postal unions and the Barid Bank Group have turned the page on their differences by signing a social agreement with new gains.

In this context, the National Union of the Post Office Group of the Democratic Federation of Labor, the National Union of Post Office of the Democratic Confederation of Labor, and the administrations of Barid Bank and the Post Office Group of Morocco signed a new social agreement, which includes many points and gains for postal workers, after a long series of protests and strikes.

In this context, Barid Bank employees will benefit from a net increase in wages, after the parties to the agreement agree to amend the wage system and complete the procedures for approving the increase by the Board of Directors of the Barid Al-Maghrib Group and the Supervisory Board for Barid Bank, with the aim of enabling all employees to receive a net wage increase of 1,000 dirhams, distributed in two installments according to the following formula: the first installment includes a net increase of 500 dirhams starting from July 1, 2024 retroactively, and the second installment starting from July 1, 2025.

Barid Al-Maghrib Group users will be granted an additional amount in the performance bonus whenever the user exceeds the assigned goals by more than 120%.

It was also agreed to address the special situation of the contractor category in a way that frames their administrative and wage status based on their seniority, competence and experience by resorting to a specialized office starting from the next social entry.

On the other hand, it was agreed to continue assessing the employment needs of the human element and to identify the real shortage in both postal activity centers and Post Bank agencies, after the sector’s unions denounced the huge shortage resulting from the lack of human resources.

The unions that signed with the managements of Barid Bank and Barid Al-Maghrib confirmed that the minutes of the agreement reflect what is considered a true translation of two harmonious wills that aim to serve the external customer and the internal customer, with the aim of making Barid Al-Maghrib Group S.A.E. and its branch Barid Bank S.A.E. among the leading institutions in the field of services. This goal can only be achieved through a participatory approach by placing the user at the heart of the development equation and taking care of everything that enables him to develop his professional paths and his financial situation in general.
