In a topical and interesting event, five unions are taking part on Monday at 6pm in the event hall of the Technical Chamber of Greece (Nikis 4, Syntagma) on the topic of the “workers’ struggle in France”.
In their call, the unions state the following:
The people of France, the working class, and the militant trade union movement have for days now been fighting a magnificent battle with strikes, occupations, demonstrations and other diverse mobilizations which have shocked us all for their extent, duration, massiveness, militancy and the assertive context!
At the heart of this confrontation are Macron and the government’s anti-insurance reforms that promote a new increase in the retirement age.
Macron responds to this mass uprising by unleashing an orgy of repression, violence, terrorism, with requisitions, conscription, arrests, attacks, putting the entire repressive apparatus of the state at the service of their anti-popular policy and tries with fire and iron to pass the extremist bill!
It is a class conflict that has gone beyond the national boundaries of France, it concerns all workers, and our own country, and especially the militant trade union movement.
At the same time, the workers in our country found themselves en masse – fighting in the street with strikes, demonstrations and multifaceted mobilizations fighting once morest the government’s anti-popular policy – capital for the crime in Tempi once morest the accuracy, in the dirty profit to sign a collective bargaining agreement with substantial increases!
In the wake of the sensational mobilizations in France, we discuss, fight, claim a better life by putting our rights and our own modern needs first.
We invite the unions of the private and public sector, labor groups, employees and pensioners, to take part in the event – discussion that we are organizing on the above on April 10, 2023.
