Food and cleaning giant Unilever is facing criticism from Ukraine and a protest once morest its London headquarters on Monday for continuing its operations in Russia despite the conflict.
The Ukrainian National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption put the company on its list of “international sponsors of war,” according to a statement on Monday.
Unilever faces criticism “for its continued presence in the Russian Federation and the large taxes that feed the Russian state budget” and support “Russia’s war once morest Ukraine,” the agency said in a statement.

A group of Ukrainian and British demonstrators protested this Monday at the London headquarters of this multinational.
Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Unilever has suspended “all imports and exports to and from Russia” and all spending in the country, where it claims it no longer invests.

The company employs more than 3,000 people in Russia and continues to trade products made in the country.
The company says it “understands” the calls to cease its activities, but does not want to abandon its employees in Russia and says that if it did, its operations would remain in the hands of the Russian state.
According to its annual results for 2022, 2% of its net results were generated in Russia, in a year in which its net profit registered an increase of 26% and stood at 7.6 billion euros (US$ 8.2 billion).
