The United Nations Children’s Fund or UNICEF considers the suffering and destruction in Gaza indescribable. Because, the horror created by Israel exceeds the limits of human savagery.
“We don’t see on screen how much death and destruction, how much suffering people are going through and their daily struggle to meet their basic needs,” UNICEF official Salim Oweis said, as reported by Al Jazeera, Monday (12/8).
He said on his most recent trip to Gaza, the situation left him stunned. The reality in the Palestinian enclave is far worse than what people see in the media.
“The situation is really indescribable,” he concluded.
Figures from the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics show Israeli forces have killed 1.8 percent of the Gaza Strip’s population since Oct. 7. About 75% of the victims were under 30.
At least 39,790 people were killed and 92,002 injured in Israel’s war on Gaza. An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led offensive on October 7, and more than 200 were taken prisoner. (I-2)
