In the latest report of the United Nations UNICEF organization, it is highlighted that one in five children in forty rich countries of the world is suffering from hunger. The situation is very serious in France, Iceland, Norway, UK and Switzerland.

But the report also highlights that Poland and Slovenia are taking initiative to remove these conditions of poverty. Italy ranks 34th out of 39 countries on the list of economic poverty among children in rich countries.

UNICEF estimates that children living in poverty are less likely to complete schooling and earn less as adults. Another cause of poverty cited is disharmony and inequality between parents.

Although economic growth in these countries was stable from 2012 to 2019, subsequent economic recessions and social insecurity conditions have reportedly worsened the situation.
