“Ungrateful Count”, fiery letter from former elected officials in favor of Grillo –

“Ingratitude is a mixture of selfishness, pride and stupidity”, they attack, quoting Descartes, 11 former parliamentarians of the 5 Star Movement who have written down their common position in a letter, entering forcefully into the clash between Beppe Grillo and Giuseppe Conte. “Only to help restore the historical, factual and then also political truth, we intervene regarding the evident divergences between Giuseppe Conte and Beppe Grillo, the founder of the M5S, together with Gianroberto Casaleggio, the gentle and determined visionary, unfortunately passed away prematurely, to whom many ‘forgetful people of Collegno’, without art or part, should show respect and gratitude. Among the signatories who intervened in defense of the guarantor and co-founder of the Movement, also historical and important faces of the M5S, such as Nicola Morra, Elio Lannutti and Alessio Villarosa. Also signing it are Rosa Silvana Abate, Ehm Yana Chiara, Jessica Costanzo, Emanuele Dessì, Michele Sodano, Simona Suriano, Raffaele Trano and Andrea Vallascas. “The letter points the finger at the management of the former prime minister: “How can a leader who led the Movement from 32.7% to 9.99% not take the slightest blame for this collapse? He seems to feel ‘Everyone is responsible except me!!!'”, they accuse. “That Movement has been completely distorted. Change is necessary, but the upheaval without evaluating its effects and respecting the identity and history of those who are changing is often pure chaos and narcissistic protagonism. It’s like winning two world championships and, at the first defeat, throwing away everything that led to success. Madness or calculated strategy? Beppe Grillo has certainly made mistakes, but he gave his heart and soul to create the only true innovation capable of bringing back enthusiasm for politics. To unload all the blame for the difficulties of the former movement on Grillo is absolutely incorrect, as is to affirm that the guarantor sought a small meeting of a few trusted sycophants to change the rules of the movement itself”.
