“Unfreeze” only on active contracts

Only for employees covered by active collective agreements are the three years “unfrozen”. and the countdown to the increase their salary up to 30%.

Based on statements by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis from TIF and according to information from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, the calculation of the three-year allowance is activated from 1/1/24 and concerns all types of seniority increases defined in active collective agreements that are in force.

Now, the active sectoral contracts and homoprofessional SSEs are counted at only 38 and of these, monly 8 have been made mandatory for the entire industry.

These are the following:

Tourist food stores

Agency businesses, members of the International Maritime Union (IMN)

Hotel employees

of Banks OTOE

Hotel staff of Rhodes

Shipping Agency businesses

Electric elevators

Radio technicians (electronics and receivers)

WITHOUT RETROSPECT

In addition, the “unfreezing” of the three years it will not have retroactive effect for the period 2012-2023. This means that the time for the three years will start counting from 1/1/2024 and the seniority for the period 2012–2024 will be lost.
According to circles from the Ministry of Labour, from 1/1/2024 the surcharges will be activated:

For those who entered the labor market after 02/14/2012 and they will start to build up the benefit entitlement for the FIRST time. Thus, for an employee who is paid the minimum wage of 780 euros today, in three years he will receive 858 euros, in six years 936 euros, in nine years 1,014 euros.

For those who were hired before 2/14/2012 and 2 years of service, the vesting of the 1st three-year period is activated on 1/1/24 and becomes payable upon completion of the three-year period on 1/1/25 with a 10% increase on the then-current base salary (e.g. at today’s prices 780+ 780×0.1=858 euros).

Employee with recruitment before 2012 and 5 years of experiencethe 2nd three-year term is activated on 1/1/24 and is paid upon completion of the six-year term on 1/1/25 with a 20% increase on the then-current basic salary (e.g. with today’s prices 780+780×0.2=936 euro).

In the event that employees have already seen wage increases in the interim from 2012 to 2023, and they exceed those currently in force either at the floor or those set out in the SSEs, then they are set off against those paid.
