Training Day 2024 Galaxies Parade had its sixth broadcast in León Gto.
260 people dressed in costume and part of the 501st Legion, which is grouped by areas of Mexico, as well as the Garrison or groups of Austria, Australia, the United States, Peru, Costa Rica, Colombia, Alaska and El Salvador, gathered at the Cultural Forum, the route taken was to take Heroes’ Causeway Avenue towards the city centre, ending in front of the Municipal Palace.
This “training day” originally began in Spain in 2009, and it was not until 2017 that it became first training in Mexico, The city of Guadalajara is the venue for a Star Wars themed walk or parade, encouraging coexistence, altruism and a love for George Lucas’s film saga.
You can enjoy seeing iconic characters such as: Darth Vader, Jedi Knights, Yoda, Boba Fett, Princesses Leia and Padme, stormtroopers, tie pilots, from both the Rebel Legion and the Empire.
The event was supported by municipal agencies such as: Urban Development, Civil Protection, Road Safety, Municipal Security, Health Department, Mobility Department, the Mayor’s Office, among many others. It was estimated that the public would attend approximately 30. 000 personasthis type of parade is itinerant so the next venue will be in the city of Merida and it took about 7 years for Leon to be the venue of the Training Day again, the organization was in charge of the Skull Garrison and The Green bellies squad, who are the official groups with costumes endorsed and certified by George Lucas (creator of Star Wars) and the approval of Albin Johnson (founder of the 501st Legion group internationally).
