After Kerstin Ott had taken a break, she was finally back in the studio and will be on tour once more in autumn. Now the “always laughing” interpreter was on a flying visit to the NDR talk show. There the 41-year-old shared an intimate anecdote from her youth.

On Friday evening (August 18) the topic “First Kiss” came up on the NDR talk show. Kerstin Ott reported on hers with a shudder. “I was just thinking regarding my very first kiss – and it was really bad. Yes, it was more of a fluid exchange. So I was getting a lot of fluids – oh, that’s super gross.” But she wasn’t alone in that. Moderator Hubertus Meyer-Burckhardt (67) also reported: “My first kiss was a disaster.”
“The always laughs”: Kerstin Ott wrote a mega hit for a sick friend
In 2016, “Die immer lacht” became an absolute mega hit, but Kerstin Ott recorded it in 2005. She wrote the song within five minutes at the kitchen table for a friend who was ill at the time. The song is regarding a woman who always shows herself to be laughing. The narrator takes her by the hand and teaches her to show her true feelings to others.

Although her very first kiss was “very, very bad”, her current wife Karolina Köppen was able to convince her directly. “I remember that very well. And it was really good,” Kerstin Ott reported regarding her first kiss with her partner. Today the couple lives with Karolina’s two daughters as a happy blended family in Heide.
