Her daughter Béatrice’s panties, estimated at between 600 and 1,100 francs, a folder of letters linked to the royal house and a toy box will also be available during the sale. Her son, Tim Rose, a retired forester from Warwickshire, told the ‘South West News Service’: ‘My mum is moving and we have cleared her property. The panties and nightgown were among several fascinating finds, some of which are new to us. Mom doesn’t remember exactly how or when she acquired her clothes. It’s no surprise that items related to Queen Victoria and her family are showing up on the Isle of Wight, as the Queen spent a lot of time at Osborne House, her holiday home.”
