She explained that treatment for vitamin D deficiency is by taking vitamin D tablets or by injection, depending on the patient’s health condition, whether he suffers from health complications, and the ability of the digestive system to absorb this vitamin.
She pointed out that the doctor must follow up on the condition of the patient who suffers from vitamin D deficiency, as taking large doses of this vitamin poses risks to the patient, explaining that treatment also includes exposure to sunlight in the morning for a quarter of an hour daily, along with eating foods rich in vitamin D, including Egg yolks, milk, yogurt, cheese, and fatty fish such as salmon.
It is worth noting that there are serious complications that may occur as a result of vitamin D deficiency, including low bone density, frequent exposure to fractures, decreased immunity, and frequent disease. Vitamin D deficiency also affects the psychological state of the patient as a result of the effect of vitamin D on the hormone serotonin, which is responsible for improving mood.
