To avoid these serious risks, the center stressed the need to treat gestational diabetes as soon as its symptoms are noticed, which are extreme thirst, frequent urination, weakness and fatigue.
Gestational diabetes can be treated by modifying the diet. Sugars and fats should be reduced and foods rich in dietary fiber should be increased, such as vegetables, fruits and whole grain products, in addition to regular exercise and motor activities.
