Stuffy nose, sneezing, runny eyes… There is no doubt that pollens are indeed back, bringing with them a number of uncomfortable consequences for people who are allergic to them. But by the way, what are pollens? And why do they cause so much inconvenience to some of us? We speak of pollen to designate the particles emitted into the air by plants (plants, trees, etc.) in order to reproduce. There are three main pollen periods: at the end of winter, with tree pollen, in spring (the period in which we are currently immersed), when grass pollen travels, and at the end of summer, when weed pollens are released. Disseminated in the air, these particles, carried by the wind, thus travel through nature to fertilize new plants. The trouble is that these pollens, although a priori harmless, are extremely allergenic, that is to say, they can give rise to very disturbing symptoms when they come into contact with the body.
