The Ministry of Health and Population said that the human papilloma virus (HPV) is a group of viruses that are common worldwide, and there are more than 100 types, but not all of them are dangerous or cause cancer, as at least 14 of them are responsible for cancer They are called very dangerous viruses.

The Ministry of Health added: Cervical cancer occurs as a result of infection with certain types of these highly dangerous viruses, especially 16,18, which may cause approximately 70% of cervical cancer and the carcinogenic lesions that cause it.

And she continued: There are other types of human papillomavirus (HPV) that do not cause cancer (especially types 6 and 11) that may cause warts in the genitals and respiratory papilloma (a disease in which tumors grow inside the respiratory tracts leading from the nose and mouth to the lungs).

Although these cases rarely lead to death, they may cause a significant degree of disease. Genital warts are very common, highly contagious, and affect sexual life.
