What is gestational diabetes?
The disease gestational diabetes is according to the German Diabetes-Center (DDZ) as carbohydrate metabolism disorder defined, which occurs for the first time during pregnancy. So diabetics who become pregnant are not counted.
Approximately two to twelve percent develop gestational diabetes, also known as gestational diabetes.
Causes of diabetes during pregnancy
