Georgenberg. “Am I just forgetful or am I already demented? Information regarding Alzheimer’s and Co.” The community’s senior representative, Bianca Kreuzer, has organized a lecture on this topic for Friday, 4 p.m., in the “Hammerwirt” inn.

The speaker is the social educator BA (FH) Sebastian Schuster. He works at the Upper Palatinate Geriatric Psychiatric Coordination Center in the Diakonie Sulzbach-Rosenberg. “Every one of us misplaces the front door key from time to time or simply cannot remember a name. Forgetfulness is something completely normal. However, there are also diseases that cause our brain performance to decline and our personality to change,” says Schuster.
Information regarding the complex forms of the disease
The lecture provides an overview of various dementia-related illnesses and, using lively examples from practice, provides a lot of information regarding the questions and problems associated with such illnesses. “Only if we know as much as possible regarding complex forms of illness such as dementia can we better understand both those affected and ourselves,” explains the expert.
According to Kreuzer, Schuster’s lecture lasts regarding two hours. “There are no costs for the participants,” points out the senior representative. “There is coffee, cake and appetizers.”
