Underlit secrets and unpredictable mysteries

as well as the lack of it have destroyed many people. Because people can endure any kind of loneliness, any kind of isolation but they can never endure the loneliness that breeds the monster of distrust.

Adam Price in The Stranger on Netflix accompanies his two sons to the field during their daily training. There he becomes the initial target of the enigmatic figure known as the Stranger, or rather the Stranger, who reveals to the embarrassed family man that Corinne his wife had engineered a pregnancy, which for obvious reasons led to the miscarriage. Adam is upset but following the lead of the thread he received from the dark form he finds that he is right. Corinne disappears without giving any signs of life and the idyllic life of the close and loving family falls apart. While Adam is engaged in a desperate attempt to get in touch with his wife, the strange Stranger continues her manipulative schemes with other people, sometimes demanding payment to keep her secret.

Adding to the already existing turmoil is the mysterious injury of a student at the school, which shocks the community. The student is seriously injured and admitted to the intensive care unit. As the police investigate, suspicion falls on Adam’s eldest son Mike and their friend Daisy, further complicating Adam’s already troubled situation.

Adam soon finds himself embroiled in something much darker than Corinne’s scam, and he’ll realize that if he doesn’t make the right moves, the conspiracy he’s embroiled in won’t just ruin lives, but end them.

The Stranger is the 14th stand-alone novel by American crime writer Harlan Coben. The novel was first published in March 2015. Harlan Coben stated: “The Stranger was one of the most challenging novels – and certainly the most subversive. When I was writing it, I never imagined that I would be part of the ‘Dream Team’ that would bring it back to life.”

One of the central themes explored in The Stranger is the concept of trust and how easily it can be broken. Adam’s struggle to come to terms with his wife’s betrayal forces him to question everything he thought he knew about their marriage, leading him down a path of self-discovery and ultimately redemption. Throughout the series, the tension builds as Adam races against time to uncover the truth while navigating a web of deceit and danger.

Richard Armitage who plays Adam said “I was very excited to read Harlan Coben’s The Stranger, an unpredictable novel that gets your pulse racing while also having social messages. I am thrilled to be working again with Nicola Schindler and the wonderful creative team she has assembled.”

As the series unfolds, we are taken on a whirlwind of twists and turns as Adam delves into the truth behind his wife’s actions. This revelation sets off a chain reaction of events that not only affect Adam’s life, but also intertwine with the lives of other characters in the story.

The narrative is multi-layered, with various subplots and characters whose lives intersect in unexpected ways. From corrupt cops to troubled teenagers, each character has their own secrets and motivations, adding to the complexity of the story. The pace is relentless as the stakes continue to escalate with each passing episode.

By the middle of the sixth episode, the narrative reaches a fever pitch as various plot threads converge, leaving viewers anxiously awaiting the resolution. The intricate storytelling keeps the audience guessing until the very end, with unexpected twists and revelations keeping the suspense alive until the final moments.

One of the series’ strongest features is its ability to weave multiple storylines together seamlessly. From the moment Adam is approached by the mysterious stranger with the shocking revelation about his wife, the plot thickens with each episode, introducing new characters and twists that add layers to the overall mystery. The pacing is well executed, maintaining tension and intrigue as the interwoven web of secrets gradually unravels.

At times, however, the plot can seem confusing, with numerous subplots and misleading elements that can be difficult to follow. Additionally, while the finale tries to wrap things up, it may leave some plot threads unresolved.

The cast delivers excellent performances, bringing depth and authenticity to their respective roles. Richard Armitage as Adam Price is the convincing family man living the dream that tends to become an unbearable nightmare, portraying a man who has entered a world of deception and uncertainty with raw emotion and conviction. Siobhan Finneran gives a compelling performance as Inspector Johanna Griffith, whose relentless search for the truth drives much of the narrative forward. Hannah John-Kamen and the entire cast contribute to the show’s somber atmosphere.

Visually, “The Stranger” has interesting atmospheric cinematography that effectively captures the mood and tone of each scene. The use of locations adds to the authenticity of the series while highlighting the contrast between the seemingly ordinary facade of urban life and the dark secrets that lie beneath the surface. With its blend of mystery and drama, The Stranger cements Harlan Coben’s reputation as a master storyteller in suspense fiction.

Man when he is faced with impasses, when he is in danger of revealing weaknesses, when he is afraid to come out in the light because he will be crushed, he builds a wall of hiding places and secrets are the means to cover what he is unable to face, he is the way not to degenerate.
