And the discovery made recently by investigators from the federal judicial police (PJF) of Namur confirms this “underground” aspect of things.
In the Rochefort region, local residents were attracted by suspicious actions in a rather remote area. The PJF took the information seriously and, using different police techniques, helped confirm the suspicions.
An intervention was carried out on Wednesday morning on the targeted site. On site, the police arrested a suspect, a German aged around forty who was living in a caravan. They also got their hands on large sums of cash. We’re talking regarding several thousand euros in cash. But, above all, the most surprising thing is the installation.
To ensure the greatest discretion, the traffickers installed the cultivation and drying chambers in containers which were buried and covered with grass.
Access was provided by a ladder but the entire system was also covered with tarpaulins to avoid prying eyes.
Inside there were plantings at different levels of maturity. Some plants were around forty centimeters high. Investigators also found the products of several harvests on site.
Other investigations are also being carried out by the PJF. This German citizen probably did not act like a hermit at the head of his small production for his personal pleasure.
