Under the microscope those who declare incomes below 10,000 euros and those who spend a lot – 2024-02-18 05:12:34

They begin controls from Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE) to those taxpayers who declare annual incomes below 10,000 euros. Already the first 800 taxpayers, out of the approximately 20,000 identified by AADE, are being called to be checked.

At the same time, with undiminished intensity, audits continue and notices are sent to hundreds of other taxpayers, in order to provide explanations both for the incomes they declare and for the expenses they incur in order to avoid heavy finesas reported by enikonomia.gr.

In particular, these are taxpayers who declared incomes below 10,000 and expenses above 30,000 euros. That is, there is a discrepancy greater than 20,000 euros between income and expenses. Essentially, through the thousands of cross-checks carried out by AADE, on the incomes that taxpayers had in 2022, the goal is to identify those who hide incomes and essentially live with “black” money.

How will the check be done?
In particular, the cross-checking of income and expenses was done by utilizing bank account movements, card payments, electricity bills, mobile phone bills and a series of information on various payments. The audits compared the incomes with the expenses incurred by the taxpayers.

In total, according to the AADE data, 440,000 taxpayers were identified with discrepancies in income and expenses, of which 420,000 had minor differences and may be audited in a second phase.

Audits in the first stage will focus on those taxpayers where significant discrepancies between income and expenses are detected.

In any case, the AADE is expected to continue checks for undeclared incomes with undiminished intensity, in order to limit tax evasion.
