“Under a sugar sky” was the title of an evening that guitarist Wolfgang Muthspiel and author Christoph Ransmayr performed in ORF Studio 3 in the Landesstudio Tirol. “Under a sugar sky” is also the name of the opulent twelfth volume that Christoph Ransmayr has published in his loose series “Spielformen des Ernaren”. It contains ballads and poems by the Austrian author and watercolors by the German painter Anselm Kiefer. These accompanied Ransmayr’s reading as projections, as did the music that the Austrian guitarist Wolfgang Muthspiel composed for the image and text on the fly. An evening in which image, word and music formed a very special connection.
