Undefeated Russian world boxing champion announced the date of the next fight

WBC, IBF and WBO world light heavyweight boxing champion (up to 79.3 kg) Artur Beterbiev said on Instagram (owned by Meta Platforms, the Tverskoy Court of Moscow recognized the company as extremist and banned its activities) that his next fight will take place on August 19 in Canadian Quebec.
Beterbiev’s opponent will be Briton Callum Smith, the mandatory contender for the WBC title, but the fight will be for all three belts of the Russian.
“There are several months of preparation ahead, and I hope that everything goes as it should,” Beterbiev wrote.
The WBC promised not to allow the fight for the title between Bivol and Beterbiev
Earlier, Beterbiev’s team tried to negotiate a fight for the title of absolute champion with WBA Super belt holder Dmitry Bivol, but WBC head Mauricio Suleiman refused to sanction the fight.
On account of Beterbiev 19 early victories in 19 fights. Smith has 29 wins and one loss to Saul Alvarez of Mexico, who took away his WBA Super Middleweight belt.
The WBC considers Beterbiev a Canadian boxer: a native of Khasavyurt, Dagestan, has Canadian citizenship and spent his last fights under the flag of this country.
