Within the framework of the Day of Memory for Truth and Justice, the National University of Cuyo (UNWHICH) prepared an agenda full of activities, both for the university community and for society in general. These initiatives seek to remember and reflect on one of the darkest periods in Argentine history: the last dictatorship civil-military.

On Monday, March 25, it will be presented the timeline “Building Memory” (a valuable teaching resource currently installed in the Memory space ex-D2) as an integral part of the sample “Argentina: 40 years in Democracy”, organized by UNCUYO. This event will take place on Monday, March 25 at 10:30 in the Prof. Luis Quesada Annex, located on the ground floor of CIicunc, university grounds.

This timeline not only seeks to remember Argentina’s recent past, but also to generate processes of construction of a collective memory and a meeting space for intergenerational knowledge. It is an invitation to reflect regarding our history, honor those who starred in it and promote commitment to TRUE and the justice.

In the Faculty of Agrarian Sciences there will also be activities on Monday the 25th. The authorities of that academic unit convened the entire community at 12, in the Native Flora Space for Memory, Truth and Justice, to reaffirm the commitment to keep alive the memory of the 30 thousand missing people and raise awareness regarding the human rights violations that occurred during the military dictatorship. In the place where the event will be held, carob trees were planted last year in tribute to the teacher Omar Masera Pincolini, the student Elsa Becerra Issa and the student Rubén Arias, who disappeared during the last dictatorship.
