TELEVISION – On Monday September 25, Laurent Ruquier takes the reins of the 8 p.m.-9 p.m. slot of BFMTV. The mystery is complete as to what the facilitator of the Big heads during this hour dedicated to information, alongside Julie Hammet. And in particular on the columnists with whom he will surround himself on set. The presence of Laurent Ruquier at this time, on an information slot, surprised many.

The last time that Laurent Ruquier tested the daily news format, it was in a satirical manner. In 1995, the host launched a show called “ Les Niouzes “. Many have undoubtedly forgotten it, and for good reason, it had a very short lifespan.

Before the 8 p.m. news on TF1, Laurent Ruquier offered a fake half-hour news program made up in particular of false reports. The credits can still be seen on the Thierry Ardisson’s website, producer of the show. Laurent Ruquier surrounded himself with comedians and personalities with whom he already collaborated: Isabelle Mergault, Christophe Alévêque, Gérald Dahan, Didier Porte, and even Frédéric Lebon.

The show was first broadcast on August 28, 1995. And it ended 5 days later on Friday, September 1. Patrick Le Lay, then CEO of TF1, announced that the decision to end the show was made by mutual agreement. The channel then bet on Baywatch with Pamela Anderson instead.

It will take a long time for the channel to make the choice of programming a humorous or satirical program in prime time access, notably with, from 2011, Nicolas Canteloup every evening for imitations.

From this Monday, September 25, it is therefore a new format that the journalist and host of Everybody talks regarding it. A format whose lines were designed by the new boss of BFMTV.

Marc-Olivier Fogiel had specified during an interview with Le Point: “It’s not a talk show or a humorous program. He will not do infotainment or an activist program, but information, simply debate. Laurent Ruquier will bring his tone. It will be irreverent and non-conformist “. A program “ apolitical » which is not intended to compete Pro Hour by Pascal Praud on CNews, nor Do not touch My TV on C8 by Cyril Hanouna. But which will be broadcast at the same time.
