Al Sabah newspaper revealed in its issue of Monday, July 1, an increase in the number of marriages of Moroccan women to Shiites holding European nationalities, in a number of countries, especially Belgium.

The newspaper explained, quoting informed sources, that there is a plan aimed at converting these Moroccan women and their children to Shiism, coinciding with the recent significant increase in the number of Moroccan Shiites, which has reached hundreds.

The same source confirmed that the plot specifically targets women living in Brussels and neighboring cities, where a number of them were observed frequenting Shiite centers, and some of them moved to Iran to study under Iranian and Iraqi Shiite authorities.

The same source pointed out that most of these Moroccan women come from the northern regions, especially from Tangier and the Rif, highlighting that they were recruited through mosques known for Shiism, spread across Brussels, Liège, Charleroi and Antwerp.

Al Sabah confirmed that Iran launched a campaign to target Moroccan female immigrants, after recording, in recent months, a decline in the percentage of Moroccans joining the Shiite sect, noting that its plan is based on pushing its loyalists to marry Moroccan women and convert them to Shiism, i.e., to force them to embrace the Shiite sect.

The same source added that most of the wedding ceremonies between these men and Moroccan women are held in one of the Moroccan Shiite centers in Brussels, where they include strange rituals, including praying on soil brought from Karbala in Iraq, to place their foreheads on, before announcing the marriage in the presence of some Iranians.

The same daily said that Belgian security services confirmed the accuracy of information circulating about Shiites receiving support from foreign parties to finance the aforementioned wedding parties, noting that several reports confirm the exploitation of centers specializing in Shiite studies to attract Moroccan women and marry them.

This comes at a time when concern is growing about the spread of Shiite doctrine among women who traditionally follow the Sunni Maliki doctrine, especially since representatives of the Muslim community in Belgium talk about the spread of Shiite associations and centers and their organization of various advocacy activities, in order to continue their expansion and spread the Shiite doctrine among the communities there.
