And if you go with a dream in your stomach to become a camping mother or father in northern Jutland, there are currently several options – as many as three pitches are currently for sale.
The latest shot in the arm is Øster Hurup Camping on the east coast, which has been put up for sale on camping broker Hans Korsgaard’s website for the tidy sum of DKK 14 million.
The site is four-star, and there is room for 227 camping units, as well as six camping cabins.
TV2 Nord has been in contact with the owner, who has no further comments on the site’s for sale sign.

But as I said, it is not the only campsite for sale in North Jutland.
At the beginning of the year, Skagen Camping – formerly called Østerklit Camping – also fell into the estate agent’s window, at EDC, with a price tag of DKK 15 million.
The campsite on Flagbakkevej is one of just three campsites in Skagen, and it was established by Oscar Hansen back in 1974 – 20 years later his son, Brian Møller Hansen, took over the site.
Skagen Camping has 260 pitches, and there is the possibility of expansion.
The site is described as well run – and an entry in the CVR register shows that you are used to black numbers on the bottom line.
Good enough, there was a deficit of DKK 30,000 in 2021, but in 2020 and 2022 there were profits of DKK 242,000 and DKK 63,000 respectively – and in 2023: A profit of DKK 87,218.
Brian Møller Hansen owns the site via the private limited company Skagen ABC ApS.
Glamping tents
During the spring, another campsite came up for sale, namely Asaa Camping & Hytteferie, which has been run by Laila and Frank Jensen for 18 years.
As Nordjutske has previously written, the couple originally hails from Kolding, but the hairdresser and carpenter wanted to try their hand at camping life in North Jutland and therefore set foot in Asaa.
– We believe that it is best to put up for sale when we are most happy with our job, and we have a good and well-run business, and not wait until we are tired and run down, the couple explained on Facebook on that occasion.
Asaa Camping & Hytteferie has 158 pitches, 23 cabins and three glamping tents – as well as a private residence of 160 square meters with a large roof terrace.

The site has been put up for sale via Campingplads Børsen, but it is not clear what the sale price is – however, it is pointed out that a payment/equity of at least DKK 2 million is required. DKK
A check of both Campingplads Børsen and EDC shows that both the campsites in Asaa and Skagen are still for sale.
At Campingplads Børsen, it also appears that there is also another campsite for sale right on the border with North Jutland – this is Fur Camping, where a payment of DKK 1.5 million is required if you are to be taken seriously as a suitor .
Caravans roll backwards
And there is growth in the North Jutland camping industry: This spring, the first baby steps were also taken for a generational change at Hedebo Strand Camping in Sæby:
Sabrina and Daniel Åsted Krüger, who are respectively the (step)daughter and son-in-law of Eric Christensen and his wife, Lene Krüger, have taken over the operation of the site’s supermarket – and as previously described, the plan is for the couple to eventually take over the entire campsite.

The niche media Turistmonitor wrote in April this year that even if the popularity of the caravan is going backwards, this is offset by the progress of cabins and motorhomes.
In a survey from DK-Camp, which represents more than 200 independent Danish campsites, 86 percent of the member sites reported an increase in cabin and motorhome overnight stays.
Which should have helped to secure places a total progress of around 10 percent measured over the last five years.
