Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection: Our video test of the PS5 version

Game news Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection: Our video test of the PS5 version

While the movie is slated for release sometime and, for the first time, Uncharted will be coming to PC, a collection bringing together Uncharted 4 and its Alone Legacy Of Thieves stand is making its way to PS5. As sublime as they were excellent when they were released, have the two titles brought together under the name Legacy of Thieves Collection withstood the weight of the years?

It’s been 6 years since Uncharted 4 was released. As a new marker initiated by Sony productions with The Last of Us, the adventure saga has undergone a more narrative mutation, seeking to give more humanity to its characters, which it has achieved brilliantly. However, the two games were previously confined to the PS4 and the PS5 was only asking to welcome Nathan Drake and Chloé Frazer,

A blatant performance boost?

Note that the price will not be the same depending on your situation. If you don’t have any of the games on PS4, Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection will cost you €49.99. On the other hand, if you have one of the two games on PS4, the update to the PS5 will be charged 10€. And for these prices, you will be able to enjoy what you could expect: a performance boost. The fidelity mode allows you to play in native 4k at 30 frames per second. Switching to Performance mode on its side displays 4k upscaled from a resolution of 1440p for a framerate capped at 60 fps. And finally, if you have a 120hz screen, you can activate the performance mode + to play in 1080p at 120 FPS. Sadly, the fidelity mode turns out to be a little more disappointing by offering a native 4K display, of course, but without the 60 FPS and whose 30 fps are inconsistent on certain occasions.

It would be crippling if the performance mode didn’t do as well.. This allows you to hold the 60 FPS without flinching with an upscale technique that proves to be effective. This will therefore allow you to enjoy the two games in very good conditions and to appreciate their rhythm which has not aged a bit. However, Uncharted 4 shows some signs of aging, both in terms of animations in general and gameplay. God of War, Red Dead Redemption II or The Last of Us Part II set new standards on PS4 and Uncharted was the start. In addition, multiplayer is missing in this edition which will only be really worth it if you are an absolute fan of the franchise wishing to play it in 60 fps..

These two Uncharted are still very good games, fun, quite pretty and ultra-paced. The adventure is still very good in performance mode and, if you are absolutely a fan of the franchise and you run after frames per if you want to experience these episodes for the first time, picking them up on PS5 won’t be a bad idea. Otherwise, the PS4 versions are still fully playable today.
