The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Supervisory Board (Dewas) said Nurul Ghufron could still be fired after being sentenced for ethical violations. That applies if he is absent three times when he is about to be executed.
“If he (Ghufron) does not want to carry out this (execution of the ethics verdict) several times (three times), we will call him and he will not come, if he does not come, it means he does not want to be executed, we will send a letter to the President, that is a despicable act, a leader can be dismissed if he has committed a despicable act,” said Chairman of the KPK Supervisory Board, Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean at his office, South Jakarta, Friday (6/9)
Tumpak said his party would summon the Deputy Chairman of the KPK to be asked to undergo an ethical decision. The former academic must comply if he does not want his sentence to become even heavier.

“Imposing a moderate sanction on the person being investigated (Ghufron) in the form of a written warning,” said Chairman of the Ethics Council, Tumpak Hatorangan Panggabean at the KPK Supervisory Board Office, South Jakarta, Friday (6/9).
Tumpak explained that Ghufron was proven to have violated Article 4 paragraph (2) letter b in the Supervisory Board Regulation Number 3 of 2021 concerning Enforcement of the KPK Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct.
The KPK Supervisory Board also imposed a 20% income cut penalty on Ghufron. The decision is valid for six months. (P-5)
