North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper said on social network X (formerly Twitter) that “all resources necessary to capture the shooter and to protect the campus will be deployed.”
“It’s a tragic way to start the session, he wrote in another message. The State will provide the necessary resources to support the entire University community.”
Around 4 p.m., a video showing the arrest of an individual was published by BNO News. A few minutes later, around 4:15 p.m., the police indicated on X that the situation was now under control.
