On June 27, 2023, Hernán Sojo, 66 years old, passed away in Cachí, Costa Rica. ‘Nucita’, his pet, was the one who made the wake of his owner go viral.

Mr. Sojo’s daughter, Jeniffer, spoke to La Teja, a Costa Rican media outlet, and said that her father and ‘Nucita’ were very attached, he treated her like a baby, he worried regarding her all the time and they slept together , even with the disease that the father suffered from.

Her daughter even indicated that in the midst of her illness, when it got worse, the only thing she wanted and made her days happy was to share with her kitten ‘Nucita’.

As expected, the love was reciprocal, since ‘Nucita’ did not separate from her owner for a second, not even when he passed away. At her funeral, the kitten lay on top of her owner’s coffin, perhaps to say goodbye to her master.
